TORCH Begins New Educational Partnership With Congregation Beth El in Sugar Land

The excitement of learning Mussar is sweeping through Houston and has finally made it to Sugar Land. Mussar study is considered by its students around the world to be the best path to introspection, self awareness and charachter developments. The history of the Mussar movement can be traced back to 19th century eastern Europe, but now is practiced in communities throughout the world.

After an extemely successful first year of Mussar at Congregation Brith Shalom in Bellaire, Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe and TORCH have joined with Congregation Beth El to offer the exciting Mussar teachings to the community in Sugar Land.

Now, residents of Sugar Land, Missouri City, Pearland and beyond no longer have to search far to find an enjoyable Torah class that is practical, interactive, stimulating and modern. Participants of this adult Mussar group work on developing their own traits and identify their personal mission statements. What are my positive and negative traits? What traits are unique to me, and that only I possess?

Attending Rabbi Wolbes Mussar classes has been one of the most significant things Ive done in many years, says Bette Schwager, Its helped me learn so much about myself that I never knew I had. It has become my guide through many ups and downs of my life.

Some of the upcoming traits being studied and practiced are kindness, humility, appreciation, order, patience and others. Admission to the Mussar classes are free of charge and no membership is required. Classes meet on most Thursday evenings at 7:30 PM at Congregation Beth El, 3900 Raoul Wallenberg, Missouri City. Please visit www.torchweb.org for the schedule.
