ASCENT Israel Mission - Day #6: Shabbos in Yerushalayim

Shabbat Shalom! Our late morning start was just what we needed after the past 5 days, which felt more like 5 weeks. The day began with words of inspiration and wisdom from Lori Palatnik. Shabbos lunch was enjoyed by all. We were intrigued by Loris afternoon presentation, the Kabbalah of you, and spent time analyzing each other to figure out where we fit in Loris descriptions.

Stump the Rebbetzin was a big hit. All 8 Rebbetzins on the mission sat on a panel and answered questions presented by the audience. It was a great learning experience for all. We cant wait to repeat it in Houston. The questions continued to come, until we had no choice but to stop in order to leave the hotel on time to arrive at the home of Aba and Pamela Clayman for Seuda Shlishit (the third meal of Shabbat.) Aba and Pamela are known for their warm hospitality, open home, and great love for the entire Jewish nation. Each week they host many Chayalim and Chayalot of the IDF. This Shabbat was no different and we enjoyed the company of many young soldiers. We were introduced to each one and heard about their roots. It was fascinating to consider that Israel is host to citizens from Poland, Egypt, Morocco, India, America, Lithuania, Iran, and many more locations. These families move to Israel and live up to the ideals and responsibilities necessary to protect and serve their country and home. What a country! We were honored to share our Havdala experience with all the soldiers.

Saturday night was a free night. Some women headed to Ben Yehuda, some to the Old City, and some to bed!!
